On November 17, History Unfolded turned 1 year old. What an exciting year it has been! The website launched with 10 Holocaust-related topics for research, a completely blank map, and a lot of big dreams. Since then, we have added 21 new events, and you’ve helped us reached impressive milestones. See the infographic below for some of our birthday stats.
As I look back on the past year, I also want to specifically recognize all of our citizen historians who have researched, submitted articles, and volunteered behind the scenes to make the first year of the project a success. I have had the privilege of speaking with secondary school students, university students, history buffs, Holocaust survivors and many educators. In the process, I have learned a lot about why History Unfolded has been valuable to you and how we can make it better. As you look around the site, you’ll notice new features we’ve added in the last few weeks, based on your feedback; we hope these changes make your research even easier and more enjoyable. Please let us know your thoughts!
As we move into the next year, we invite you to continue to help us learn more about American press coverage of the Holocaust. We will be taking new article contributions until spring 2018. We hope you will join us in reaching new heights in 2017!
