On November 17, History Unfolded turned 1 year old. What an exciting year it has been! Going for Gold

This research challenge is simple, yet ambitious: we’re looking for 250 approved articles by August 31. We need your help to get across the finish line with at least 94 additional relevant articles. Read More

By | Community Findings, News and Updates | No Comments

April 12, 2016

On March 30, Philip Oltermann of the Guardian published an article that attracted immediate attention. “Revealed: how Associated Press cooperated with the Nazis” the headline proclaimed. The first sentence of the article was equally stunning: “The Associated Press news agency entered a formal cooperation with the Hitler regime in the 1930s, supplying American newspapers with material directly produced and selected by the Nazi propaganda ministry, archive material unearthed by a German historian has revealed.” Read More

The objective: test the History Unfolded website with a group of citizen historians who had never done the project before. The goal: to get all event participants to successfully submit one article, and to get at least one article in the database on all 10 events we had on the site at the time.
