- NEW YORK. March 24.—(AP)—Receipt of a cablegram denying reports of persecution of Jews in Germany has been announced by Eugene J. Deuth, owner and publisher of the American News, only American newspaper published in Central Europe.
Deuth declared last night the cablegram, signed by Governor Von Thaer and Provincial Treasurer Werner of Silesia, Germany, said reports of atrocities and persecution are "absolutely untrue."
"Jewish business and Jewish press are not molested and absolutely free from interference," the cable said. "Isolated and unorganized excesses against Individuals are not of a dangerous or harmful nature. Complete peace and quiet In town and country." - History Unfolded Contributor
