- BALTIMORE, Md., Apr. 17.—(UP)—Although the 1936 Olympic games are scheduled to be held In Germany, Avery Brlndage[sic], president of the American Olympic committee, today expressed the purely personal belief that they will not be held "in any country where there will be Interference with the fundamental olympic theory of equality of all races."
Brundage expressed this unofficial opinion In a letter to K. A. Miller, managing editor of the Baltimore Jewish Times, in response to a telegram from Miller asking his personal reactions to steps reported In Germany that would prevent participation of Jews in international competition.
He continued, "the Olympic protocol provides that there shall be no restriction of competition because of class, color or creed. The matter no doubt will be taken up by the American Olympic committee." - History Unfolded Contributor
