BERLIN, (U.P.)—Chancellor Adolf Hitler's Nazi organization grimly began Tuesday its threatened campaign of retaliation and atrocity propaganda abroad.

Nazi headquarters in the city of Schwerin announced that all Jewish shops must close for an indefinite period in the upper Silesian city of Gleiwitz, Nazi storm troops picketed Jewish stores and sought to persuade the public not to patronize them.

The local Nazi organization in Schwerin ordered Jewish shopkeepers to pay all employes[sic] two months' wages in advance.

The plant of the newspaper Kreisblatt was forced to shut down, along with the shops.
