- NEW YORK, Dec. 25.—(AP)—An appeal to the American people for $400,00 aid to "several thousand German refugees of the Christian faith" was issued Wednesday by 150 Protestant and Catholic clergymen.
Dr. S. Parkes Cadman, chairman of the American Christian committee for German refugees, headed the list of clergymen.
"Among the victims of the rigorous and oppressive laws passed by the recent Nuremberg reichstag against the Jews are thousands of Christians who are racially partly Jewish but religiously Christian," the appeal stated.
"Four hundred thousand dollars are required for their relief, resettlement and rehabilitation." - History Unfolded Contributor
