- NEW YORK, N. Y. (I.N.S.) — Deluged with letters and telegrams over next Monday night's meeting of the German-American bund in Madison Square Garden, Mayor F. H. LaGuardia Friday night announced he would take no steps to stop the affair because it "would not be the right thing to do."
"If I should make an attempt to prevent this meeting, I would then be doing exactly as Hitler is doing in carrying on his abhorrent form of government," he said. - History Unfolded Contributor
