- BERLIN.—(INS)—Jews henceforth must wear a large yellow star the size of the palm of their hand with the word "Jew on it in black letters, a decree issued by the Ministry of the Interior ordered Saturday. The star is to be worn on the left side of the breast.
Furthermore, Jews may not leave the district of their residence without written permission of the police. These orders become effective Sept. 19.
