- BERLIN, June 13 (German broadcast recorded by United Press in New York).—Propaganda Minster Paul Joseph Goebbels said last night that Germany will carry out a mass "extermination" of Jew in reprisal for the Allied air bombings of German cities which, he acknowledges, have caused heavy damage.
Goebbels, in an article in the publication "Das Reich," said the Jews would be exterminated throughout Europe "and perhaps even beyond Europe" in retaliation for the heavy air assaults.
He said the Jews had, by their "frivolous play," incited British and American airmen to bomb German cities heavily.
[Goebbels' threat of retaliation against 1,000-plane devastation raids on Cologne, Essen and other German war centers and his references to possible extermination of Jew "beyond Europe" might mean big-scale German air attacks or perhaps anti-Jewish terrorism carried out by Germany's allies outside Europe—perhaps in Japan.]
"We never doubted that the heaviest damage could be caused to us by air raids." Goebbels wrote.
"But this will not change the military situation.
"The German population is suffering bitterly from the (British) raids."

LONDON, June 12 (AP)—The German-controlled Prague radio announced tonight that eighteen more Czechs have been executed, bringing the reprisal total to 358 since the fatal wounding of the Reinhard Heydrich by Czech patriots. This total did not count the persons killed when all males in the town of Lidice, estimated 350, were shot.
Ten were executed in Prague and eight in Bruenn, the announcement said. Two were women. - History Unfolded Contributor
