- LONDON. April 5 (INS).— Arthur Greiser, "Butcher of Poland" and former Nazi Gauleiter of Danzig, has been captured by the Russians, a Moscow broadcast said today.
The clandestine radio Atlantic reported on Feb. 26 that Greiser had been captured at Poznan.
Among other things, Greiser was accused of shooting 100 Polish civilians in the basement of a church, in reprisal for the killing of two members of the Gestapo. - History Unfolded Contributor
